Falconry is an ancient sport of hunting with a trained raptor.

Researchers are continuing to unfold the depth of the origins of falconry, though earliest records date back to 3500 B.C. (5500 years ago). See the International Association for Falconry (IAF) for a detailed history of falconry across time and by countries and regions of the world. Most people think of falconry as the “sport of Kings” originating in England. That is certainly the heritage for American falconry, though our sport has evolved and is different from what you’ll find in other parts of the world.
